The formulation for CSM, shown below, has been time tested (ref. 6-10, pg. 273) as a dropout supplement for virtually all strains of S. cerevisiae. Cells grow vigorously in CSM supplemented medium which is easily made by adding a small quantity of the CSM powder to DOB or DOBA Base Medium and autoclaving. See page 152 for additional supplements for specific requirements by certain two hybrid system strains.
