RNaid® Kit
The "GENECLEAN" Kit for RNA

The RNaid Kit is one of BIO 101's most unique and highly utilized kits. It contains all of the solutions and reagents necessary for the isolation and purification of RNA from native and denaturing agarose and polyacrylamide gels. Use to size-select RNA for cDNA libraries. The Kit uses a proprietary silica gel-based RNAMATRIX®  that binds RNA better than DNA. RNaid is also useful for removing unincorporated nucleotides, buffer salts, and other reagents from enzyme reactions.

The basic protocol requires twenty minutes and is as follows:

1. Excise RNA band from native or denaturing gel.
2. Add RNA Binding Salt to melt gel slice.
3. Bind RNA to RNAMATRIX.
4. Wash contaminants from matrix/RNA complex.
5. Elute with DEPC-treated water.
