Fluorescence Differential Display Kit

A complete Kit for the use of "differential display" using non-radioactive detection method. Display Systems Biotech introduces the new FDD Kit for Fluorescence Differential Display to be used with fluorescence-based gel imaging systems.

Advantages of Differential Display in conjunction with an Automated Fluorescence Imaging System

Advantages of the FDD system versus DDRT-PCR and Automated Sequencers for high throughput scanning and recording of expressed sequences: A fluorescence imaging scanner can be accessed by multiple users and will scan several fold more transcripts than automated DNA sequencers. It is also possible to isolate and clone cDNA bands of interest. Comparatively, automated DNA sequencers can be used for screening transcripts but not for isolating differentially regulated transcripts from the sequencing gel. The routine use of DDRT-PCR (radioisotope labels) to map cDNA populations would require a highly reproducible system for densitometric recording from autoradiographs. Scanning of band patterns is time consuming and error-prone and not well suited to this application.
