RPM®
Rapid Pure Miniprep Kit
The RPM® Kit is designed for rapid isolation of up to 20 µg of supercoiled plasmid DNA from bacterial cultures. The high quality DNA produced by this procedure is suitable for DNA sequencing, PCR, in vitro transcription, and various enzymatic manipulations.
BIND - WASH - ELUTE
BIO 101's RPM® protocol begins with the proven method of lysis in SDS-NaOH. The DNA is rapidly purified from the neutralized lysate by binding to GLASSMILK®, washing, and eluting with water or TE. This eliminates the necessity for extraction with organic solvents and ethanol precipitation. The entire procedure can be done in 12 minutes for 12 minipreps, and does not require syringes, vacuum manifolds, or columns. All steps are carried out in a microcentrifuge using a special Spin Filter to purify the plasmid DNA.
The RPM Kits are excellent for miniprep isolation of plasmid and cosmid DNA, and come in four sizes: 60, 120, 300 or 600 preps. Yield per prep is up to 20 µg depending on plasmid copy number and cell growth.
