RPM^® 1G
Rapid Pure MaxiPrep

The RPM^® 1G Kits provide the reagents and protocols necessary for purification of up to 1 mg of high copy number plasmid DNA from 1 g (250ml culture) of cells in just one hour, without the use of organic extractions.

The main elements of the purification protocol are as follows:

1. Special osmotic cell wash reduces endotoxin levels 10 to 20-fold.
2. Alkaline lysis of bacteria, followed by neutralization and RNase treatment.
3. Binding of plasmid DNA to GLASSMILK^® in the presence of a guanidine chaotrope followed by washing.
4. Elution of DNA from the GLASSMILK^® and concentration by precipitation with salt and alcohol.
